I grew up singing classic Country at a western dinner theater, the Rockin’ R Ranch, that was started and run by my family. From Patsy Cline to Patsy Montana, I sang all the standards for crowds from the time I was 4 years old. It was a wonderful experience to start my musical journey at the foundations of country music.
Like so many little girls, I also idolized the Disney princesses growing up and would memorize all the songs. Musical theater and animated movies were a big part of my development. It was the storytelling itself that captivated me, though, and I couldn’t help but want to learn more about every aspect of the production. It got obsessive. But, from 2012-2018 I put my (otherwise useless) knowledge to use as a co-host for the Animation Addicts Podcast with the Rotoscopers. Watching and analysing over 150 movies really helped me in my song writing.
Because I love to learn languages, after high school, I did a study abroad in Spain to learn Spanish. It was a short 2 months but very impactful. Later I took on the challenge to learn Portuguese and lived in Brazil for 8 1/2 months. Both experiences changed me to the point that they will forever play a part in what I create.
Today, I love to infuse all that I have learned over my lifetime to connect with people. It’s hard to really explain what I do but every project is a nail in the overall framework of my career. In short, it’s a bit of country and a lot of flair.
